Employment Information

Eligibility Requirements


Requirements Prior to Employment
  • Minimum age - 18 years of age
  • Maximum age - Have not reached 36th birthday
  • Certified with the Texas Fire Commission as a Structural Fire Fighter and certified with the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician.
Requirements for Application Process
  1. Complete a pre-employment application with City Personnel Office
  2. Written Entrance Examination (70% passing)
  3. Physical Agility Test
  4. Background Investigation
  5. Physical (after job offer)
  6. Drug Screen
  7. Polygraph Test
Required Documents
  1. Birth Certificate (certified copy)
  2. Naturalization papers if applicable
  3. High School diploma or G.E.D. and College transcript or certificates
  4. DD 214 (Military release - if applicable)
  5. Marriage License and /or Divorce Decree
  6. Signed release for information
