Eligibility Requirements
Requirements Prior to Employment
- Minimum age - 18 years of age
- Maximum age - Have not reached 36th birthday
- Certified with the Texas Fire Commission as a Structural Fire Fighter and certified with the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician.
- Complete a pre-employment application with City Personnel Office
- Written Entrance Examination (70% passing)
- Physical Agility Test
- Background Investigation
- Physical (after job offer)
- Drug Screen
- Polygraph Test
- Birth Certificate (certified copy)
- Naturalization papers if applicable
- High School diploma or G.E.D. and College transcript or certificates
- DD 214 (Military release - if applicable)
- Marriage License and /or Divorce Decree
- Signed release for information
- Monthly salary - $3,190.00
- Time and a half overtime pay or compensatory time for extra hours
- Educational and Incentive pay
