Application Process
Persons interested in employment with the City of Corsicana should follow the process described below. Those with disabilities who need accommodations when applying, testing, or interviewing should contact the Human Resources Office at 903-654-4822. Requests for accommodations should be made in advance to allow for the proper assessment of needs and identification of arrangements that may be necessary.

Personnel & Administrative Regulations
All Positions Except Sworn Police & Fire Officers
  1. Follow the instructions on the City of Corsicana Employment Application. Applications are accepted for posted positions only. You may apply for more than one position at a time; however, a completed application must be submitted for each position for which you apply. If assistance is required, either in filling out the application or special accommodations, please consult the Human Resources Department at (903) 654-4822.
  2. Qualifications given in the job description posted on the City of Corsicana website, bulletin board and newspaper represent only the minimum qualifications necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Interview preference is given to the most qualified applicants who may possess more specific education and/or experience than is given in a particular job description.
  3. You may submit your application in person at Corsicana Government Center, Human Resources Department, 200 N. 12th St, Corsicana, Texas 75110. The application should clearly describe how you meet the minimum requirements (education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities listed on the job posting). A resume may be submitted along with an application, but not in lieu of one.  If a resume is attached, all questions must still be answered completely. Do not use the comment “See Resume” on the application.  If a question does not apply to you, please mark it “NA”.
  4. Incomplete applications will not be considered.  All answers are subject to verification.
  5. Applications will be referred to the hiring department for review. If you are selected for a personal interview, you will be contacted by someone from the hiring department.
  6. If you are selected for employment, all information listed on the application and/or resume is subject to verification. A false statement or omission may result in disqualification for employment or discharge. A background check, drug/alcohol screening and physical exam will be required prior to a confirmed offer of employment and beginning work. Please note additional screenings/exams may be required for certain positions.
  7. Download Application and print. Please type or write legibly in black or blue ink.
  8. All college education requires verification through a certified transcript.  Please be prepared to provide the certified transcript at the time of the initial interview.
  9. Unsuccessful applicants are not notified when a position is filled due to the high number of applications.
  10. Your employment with the City of Corsicana is at will.
