Assistant Chief Ronny McGaha

Assistant Chief McGaha oversees the day to day operations of the department and the supervision of the Dispatch Center. He assists the Chief of Police with various projects and leads the Department in the absence of the Chief. Assistant Chief McGaha is also responsible for conducting Internal Affairs investigations and addressing citizen complaints.

The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible component of the department. Officers are assigned to work 12-hour shifts, which are each led by a sergeant and a corporal.

Officers receive various types of advanced training and are assigned to the Motorcycle Unit, Narcotics Task Force, K-9 Officer, Alcohol Breath Test Operator, Firearms Instructor, Accident Investigations, Crime Prevention Officer, and Training and Equipment Officer.

The Dispatch Center includes eight fulltime telecommunicators, one part-time telecommunicator, and one supervisor that are assigned to work 12-hour shifts in conjunction with the patrol officers. Each shift is assigned two fulltime telecommunicators to answer the annual 77,000 non-emergency phone calls and 25,000 calls to 9-1-1. The telecommunicators are also responsible for dispatching nearly 6,000 EMS and Fire calls for the Corsicana Fire Department.

In addition, the Division includes five part-time School Crossing Guards that are assigned to Fannin, Carroll, Drane, and Bowie Elementary Schools.
