Corsicana is located between four major population centers: Dallas-Fort Worth, with a population of 6.7 million, is just 50 miles north on Interstate 45; Houston, with a population of 6.2 million, is 187 miles southeast on Interstate 45; San Antonio, with a population of 2.2 million, is 250 miles southwest on Interstate 35; and Austin, with a population of 1.7 million, is just 150 miles southwest of Corsicana. Those four population centers alone are home to 17 million consumers.
With its proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Corsicana also has easy access to the Metroplex’s dynamic transportation network. Located just 50 miles southeast of downtown Dallas on Interstate 45, which connects the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with the Houston metro area. Corsicana is also only 40 miles from Interstate 20, a major east-west artery, as well as being less than 45 miles from Interstate 35, which connects Dallas-Fort Worth with Waco, Austin, San Antonio and Laredo on the Inter-American Highway.
Corsicana offers easy access to a wide variety of passenger, cargo and private airports. It is only about an hour’s drive from both DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field, and about 75 minutes from Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Houston’s George Bush International Airport is about 175 miles south of Corsicana on Interstate 45.
For businesses that receive raw materials, or ship finished goods, through deep-water ports, Corsicana offers easy access to several major ports. The City is only 210 miles, by interstate highway, from the Port of Houston, the 2nd largest U.S. port by tonnage, and 230 miles from the Port of Beaumont, the 4th largest U.S. port by tonnage. Other Panamax deep-water ports within easy reach are the Port of Corpus Christi and the Port of Galveston.
Corsicana is served by both Union Pacific (UP)and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroads, both of which pass through the city and are served by numerous dedicated rail spurs supporting local manufacturers. In addition, Corsicana is located within an hour's drive of several major intermodal terminals, giving manufacturers located in Navarro County a convenient alternative to the additional expense of a dedicated rail spur. UP's Dallas Intermodal Terminal is located 35 miles north of Corsicana on I-45; BNSF-Alliance Terminal is located in Haslet, just 90 miles north of Corsicana on I-45; and Kansas City Southern's KCS-Dallas Terminal is located 60 miles north of Corsicana on I-45.
This robust transportation infrastructure, combined with its proximity to rapidly expanding consumer and industrial markets, makes Corsicana an excellent location for large-scale manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Corsicana and Navarro County are blessed with a relatively large and robust manufacturing workforce, coupled with a strong work ethic.
