CORSICANA, TX – March 21, 2018 – Paul Henley has accepted the position of Fire Chief of Corsicana, Texas this month. He brings with him 15 years of experience and numerous accreditations, beginning with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1991, and Master of Science degree in Fire and Emergency Management Administration from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 2014. He was a former Captain for the Fire Department of Garland, Texas and most recently, Battalion Chief of the City of Frisco, Texas.
Chief Henley holds certifications as Master Firefighter, Paramedic, Incident Safety Officer, Instructor III Master, TCPF Field Examiner, Driver/Operator, and Inspector II. Chief Henley is also credentialed as Chief Training Officer, Chief Fire Officer, Fire Service Chief Executive Officer and is completing the Executive Fire Officer with the National Fire Academy. He is currently an Adjunct Instructor with TEEX at Texas A & M University in Leadership and Officer Development. He will oversee a department of 68 employees, including 63 Firefighter/EMT staff.
Originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, Chief Henley has called the DFW Metroplex his home for 30 years. He begins service in Corsicana March 26, 2018 when he officially replaces retiring Fire Chief Donald McMullan, who has been in Fire Service 44 years and served as the City of Corsicana’s Fire Chief since January 1999. Chief McMullan is credited with the planning, design, and installation of the Emergency Medical Services program for the City in 2002.
A public reception is planned for Monday, March 26 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Corsicana Government Center Lobby, 200 N 12th Street, Corsicana, Texas.
