1. When was off-premises consumption of alcohol legalized?

On June 1, 2004, Corsicana citizens voted to approve the legal sale of beer and wine for off-premises consumption and the legal sale of mixed beverages within restaurants (Ordinance #2381). The sale of beer and wine only applies to the current (at the time of the 2004 election) corporate boundaries of the City of Corsicana.

The sale of beer and wine only applies to the current (at the time of the 2004 election) corporate boundaries of the City of Corsicana. Any areas that are annexed after the election date will be considered dry. Residents of those areas may vote themselves "wet" in order to sell alcohol.

10. Is there an application fee for a permit for beer and wine sales?

Yes, there is a $75 fee and all ad valorem taxes must be paid in full.

11. Do permits have to be renewed?

Yes, beer and wine permits must be renewed annually and mixed beverage permits with a food and beverage certificate must be renewed after three years.

An employee must be at least 18 years of age to handle alcoholic beverages.
