To obtain a library card you must display current picture ID with your correct address. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must show their picture ID and sign the library card application. Library cards are free to city residents displaying acceptable forms of ID. Replacement cards are $5. If your library card is lost or stolen, please contact the library immediately so that we can deactivate the card to prevent fraudulent check-outs. In lieu of money for replacement cards we also accept food items. One canned good represents one dollar and the food is donated to support our local food pantry. Food for fines will only be accepted for late fines and not lost or damaged items.Library

The first time you use your card, you may check out any combination of two books. After the first time, you may check out the following: Adult books Juvenile books Up to ten (10) Audio books (books on CD) Magazines Up to five (5): DVDs

We can request items for you from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Availability and loan periods may vary. We will notify you of any fees charged by the lending library. Corsicana residents may obtain a TexShare card to borrow materials from participating libraries. Lending policies will vary by library.Library

To request an item in the collection, whether or not it is checked out: Call us or tell us in person to put you on the waiting list for that item. Place a hold from any of the Library’s computer catalogs. Place a hold from your home or office by visiting our online catalog and clicking on “My Account”. We will notify you when the request is filled then hold the item at the Circulation Desk for three days for you to pick up.Library

Library books and audiobooks are loaned for 21 days. You may renew items once either in person, at the front counter, or over the phone and only if the item is not requested by another patron. DVDs and Book Club books are loaned for 7 days. There are no renewals on these items.

Library books and materials fines are $.10 per day, per item. DVDs fines are $1 per day, per item. Material fines are limited to $2 per title, and DVD fines are limited to $15 per title.

If an item is lost, the replacement cost from the catalog is charged is to replace the lost item. If a returned item has been damaged, we will determine whether the item can be repaired or whether it must be replaced. Food items may not be used to cover costs of lost or damaged library materials. If it can be repaired, a fee to cover the repair costs will be charged. If it needs to be replaced, we’ll charge the replacement cost. We cannot accept purchased/used books to replace lost books.

The library book return is located on the north side of the library. The return is for books only. Please return audiobooks and DVDs directly to the circulation desk. A $5 fee will be charged for each audiobook or DVD put into the outside book return.Library

Free wireless internet access is accessible in the Library to any patron who comes in with a laptop and Wi-Fi card. Stop by the Service Desk to receive the password for the day. Start up your laptop and open your web browser and you should connect to the "Attwifi" wireless network. If necessary, change your connection settings to obtain an IP address automatically then enter the password. As with any Wi-Fi access, you should disable file sharing and print sharing and maintain up-to-date anti-virus protection. Printing is available over the wireless connection as well as from the workstations in the Library's PC Lab. Stop by the Service Desk to obtain the web address for Wi-Fi printing.Library

Library Public Computer Hours: Monday - Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. - 7:40 p.m. Wednesday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:40 p.m. Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:40 p.m. To use the Public Computers: Have a valid Corsicana Public Library card with no fees owed. As a first-time user, review the Library's Acceptable Use Policy, and sign a release form stating that you understand it. A parent or legal guardian must sign the form for a child under 17. Log into a computer or, if all PCs are in use, reserve the next available PC. Computers may be used for 60 minutes. Printing is available for $0.15 per page for black-and-white copies and $1 per page for color copies.
