Citizen's Police Academy

This is a popular 10-week program including a ride-along with a patrol officer and a tour of the Navarro County Jail. The Citizen's Police Academy was designed to provide the public a working knowledge of the Corsicana Police Department and the Navarro County Criminal Justice system.

Eligibility & Applying

You must be at least 18 years old and live or work within the City of Corsicana. You can call the Office of the Chief's Secretary, Shirley Morgan, to be sent an application, which should be returned to Officer James Hudson or Mrs. Morgan before the class deadline. The class size is limited to 25 attendees. Applications may also be obtained at the Corsicana Police Department building.

Classes

Students meet each Thursday night at the Police Department from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for ten weeks. They receive a total of 22.5 hours of classroom instruction, tours, and demonstrations, in addition to a four-hour ride-along with a patrol officer.
